OVERVIEW

During her time in the House of Representatives, Senator Blanche Lincoln served on the Energy & Commerce Committee. Once elected to the Senate, she joined the Senate Energy & Natural Resources Committee and later the Senate Finance Committee, where she focused heavily on legislation to promote alternative energy sources and conservation. She was a member of the “Gang of 10,” a bipartisan group of Senators who developed a comprehensive 2008 energy bill (New Energy Reform Act) that would have allowed for certain offshore drilling, but also make historic investments in alternatives fuels, wind, solar and electric vehicles. Craig Felner has a long history of working on environmental and energy issues, first serving as the energy and natural resources policy advisor to Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson (R-TX) and later serving in the White House Office of Cabinet Affairs for President George W. Bush with oversight responsibility for the Departments of Energy, Enviornmental Protection Agency, Interior, and Agriculture. Craig left the Administration to serve as head of Valero Energy’s federal affairs office in D.C., a position he held for 15 years.
